Excellent teacher. My daughter loves learning the piano, and the teacher does a wonderful job teaching.

Dr. Li-San Guerette has taught hundreds of students, including children from the age of 3, teenagers, and adults. She teaches students ranging from the absolute beginner to very advanced pianist, including those sitting for diploma or high school exams, in the subjects of Piano, and Theory of Music.
Li-San loves music, whether it is classical, jazz, or contemporary, and enjoys teaching any student who is eager to learn. She is a patient, and committed teacher who cares about each student.
One of Li-San's greatest joys is seeing the smile on a student's face when they master a piece, finish a book, or pass an exam with flying colors.
Li-San likes to re-spark interest in piano playing, and strengthen weak areas in a student's musicianship, as she has had vast experience teaching students who have transferred from other teachers.
Li-San shows her students the most efficient and relaxed way to practice. Li-San recognizes the importance of integrating theory and technical work with repertoire, so that students understand music, and perform it expressively.
Li-San has helped many students achieve wonderful piano exam results up to Licentiate Diploma (Post Graduate College) level.
Li-San is an accredited teacher by the Music Teacher's Association of NSW, Australia. Her qualifications from Sydney include Bachelor of Arts in Communications from UTS, the Associate Diploma of Music (Piano) from AMEB and the Graduate Diploma of Music (Classical Performance - Piano) with Distinction, from the Australian Institute of Music. She completed her Ph.D in Music Education at The University of New South Wales (UNSW).
As a pianist, Li-San has won various music awards, including 1st and 2nd prizes at Sydney eisteddfods such as Parramatta Eisteddfod, Castle Hill Festival of Performing Arts, Ryde Eisteddod, Galston Eisteddfod and the McDonald's Performing Arts Challenge.
Li-San has also worked as an accompanist in Sydney for High School and AMEB exams, played the piano at weddings, and plays regularly for her church worship team since her teenage years.
It’s always fun to practice with her. She helped me be better in piano by helping me in the things I do wrong.
My past teachers didn’t help me, they were like “yep that’s good” when I had lots of mistakes. She’s probably the best out of my past teachers.
